Alastair Buckman was my doctor for nearly my whole life. He was always kind and caring and frirndly to myself and my children who were also on his books. A few years back, my son nearly died. Alastair turned up to my house in tears to give me a hug. It showed how big a heart he had. I will miss him and i send many hugs to his family and friends who need it.

In Memory of Dr. Al Buckman or Al "speedy" Buckman as I referred to you Al - this arose from when you picked me (Lin) up when I came down for Amy's nuptials and it felt as if we were driving along a pile of rocks with no tyres on the wheels at some speed - an exhilarating experience.

We are sad you no longer with us but pleased you have started a new journey of peace and light.

I wanted to let you know how much we love and respect you for taking care of our loving Sister Shaz (Sharryn) and Aunt, for being there for her and for comforting her - we will never forget you.

We shall watch out for Shaz along with the rest of the Whanau, and we shall ensure our Kaumatua and Kuia watch over you on your journey to Te Rangi.

May the Wairua and Wisdom of our Elders guide you

For Al "Speedy" Buckman
Thankyou for loving our darling Sister and Aunty Shaz (Sharryn).
The "speedy" came from the time you picked me up when I came to Amy's wedding and on our journey from the flight, it was as if the car had no tyres and it was flying at high speed along a rocky road - it was an exciting experience.
We want to say thankyou Al, for loving our beautiful Sister and Aunty and taking care of her and for being there - you were a ball of fun. We love you and appreciate you for all that you were and for being part of Shaz's life. We are sad for the family but grateful to have known you.

I first knew Alastair from our school days in Rai Valley and later l worked with him in the Accident Clinic for many years, where l was a nurse. Here too l became friends with Sharyn who was a Radiographer at that time.
Stuart you will remember me as Ann Waterhouse. Alastair was a good man and a pleasure to work alongside. My thoughts go out to his family....a special hug to Sharyn.
