Not a single day in the past year has gone by without thinking of you George. It's still a struggle to understand. I miss your songs, your inner strength and kindness, your cheeky laugh, and quirky sense of humour. You are so very missed.
The hills of Waihopai are a beautiful reminder of how precious life is.
Love Always, Karen

I walk past your house everyday and think of you also think of you walking me home at night & the good times helping with the wood on a farm at Rotomanu. George, we can't believe it's a year already since you left us
We miss you so much,
miss the phone calls
Miss you ringing from the driveway to say your out side
Miss you bring your chilly bin in, with food for us to cook up

Not many days go by we don't think of you
I was cleaning out a cupboard this morning and found some more day food packs like the other ones we have you.
So had a moment,
But then I thought put your big girl pants on,
That still don't help, so I thought writing on here may do
Miss you every day,
Mrs Dredge

Thinking of you George. But that's nothing new, you're never much more than a thought away. Remembering Christmas, with a loving and sad reminder that you are missing today.

Thinking of you during this tough time.George had such a positive impact in my life in the short space of time I have known you. Sending my love always .I will miss doing fire wood with you as you said I was amazing and had a great way of helping with the wood and loading it too .I will miss that with you. Also going down for meals all the time and taking me to town sometimes when i was stuck. Also taking me up to see Rose and now i will miss that too. ROSE RIP ROSE. George said to Rose "If i die on the farm where I am now, i will die happy and be the happiest man in the world." She said that to Michelle. I will always remember those words he said to Rose. "I'm not scared of dying" and look what happened.
GEORGE gave a card to Michelle which said "Just put your big-girl panties on and deal with it??" He used to call me a pocket-rocket because no-one else could keep up with him doing the firewood. He also used to call me a mighty mouse.
All the best my great friend. Thinking of you always. Miss you lots. Will miss you walking me home at night up and down the road. And taking care of me when i was sick, and bringing me meals and looking after me and bringing me lemon drinks too. Once again will miss you heaps my great friend. Michelle. One day i will see you again. Until we meet again in spirit.

Mr Murcott, you may not have been my real uncle, but you were like one to me,
Always there to encourage me in what ever I was doing,
Telling me how proud you were of me, and telling me I can do anything I can put my mind to
I really miss you and always will

Thank you Uncle Georg, so much, for making my childhood so much fun. Especially in the times when it had the potential to be so rough. I'll always forget our morning swims at the Blenheim pool and of course our time in the TKD Dojang together. xxx

George
The hills will never be the same. They will not have you climbing them anymore. You are now walking in new pastures. You have been a great mate and friend for many years. Enjoyed your company when you were up visiting us at the beginning of the year and how proud you where with the deer and pig you caught.
Enjoyed catching up with you a couple of weeks ago counting the deer on the opposite ridge.
Your journey is now over. R.I.P our friend.

How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so very hard.
There is some comfort in knowing your last days were spent looking up at a mountain range, living simply, and counting deer on the hills at the end of the day. Thank you for sharing how happy this made you feel.
Love you always, Karen
