Alick KENNINGTON Obituary
Passed away quietly at home on Thursday, September 15, 2022, aged 82. Loved husband of Rona. Father and father-in-law of Michael; Anne Bruce and Mike Delaveau. Loved popo of Jess and Katherine, and Josh. Brother of Laurence and Judy Kennington (deceased) and Jean and Richard Jones (Auckland). Messages to 8A Murphys Road, Blenheim 7201 or www.cloudybayfunerals.co.nz In lieu of flowers, donations to the Marlborough Hospice or Parkinson's Society would be appreciated or may be made at the service. A Memorial Service for Ross will be held at the Springlands Chapel, Cloudy Bay Funeral Services, 15 Boyce Street, on Wednesday, September 21 at 1.00pm. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed on the Cloudy Bay Funeral Services website.

Dear Jean
Iris and Alick lived next-door to the Avery family on Grassmere Road in the "40s and 50's and maybe beyond that time. I recall that Iris and our mum Joyce had a special bond. As a child I loved Iris. Your parents' family were older than our parents', (Joyce and Graham Avery). I do not recall any occasions when we socialised as families but there was a closeness. Ross was Basil's hero on the school bus! Lawrence assisted in the search for our brother Eric.
In communicating, I feel that I speak for our parents in extending to you and your extended family our love and sympathy.

Dear Rona, Michael, Anne and whanau,
It was with deep sadness that we learned of Ross' passing last week. He was a great support for Les after Phillipa passed away and Dad often mentioned Ross when I visited the rest home or called him on the phone. It seemed they were always planning more trouble each time they caught up...
We will be thinking of you all for Ross' final farewell. Much love and respect from the Williams family.
