Kia ora Corbett whånau.

My deepest and most sincere condolences on the passing of Ash.

He was a force to be reckoned with. I feel that the service today was a fantastic representation of the man- full of integrity. He had such an interest in the world around him. Whilst also often having a challenging, dogmatic demeanour.

It was so lovely to listen to all of the anecdotes and to see all the beautiful people in the Corbett family. What a privilege for me to be part of it and how happy I am for my children to be so fortunate to belong to it.

I appreciate Ash and Barbara for modelling curiosity about the world around them and seeking to live rich and healthy lives. I am grateful to them for the patience and acceptance they showed me when I was 18 and beyond and probably quite obnoxious. I love them both for deciding to chance the weather and then enduring an emergency plane landing in order to see their new grandson (Miro). Barbara, when she arrived, had a meal for us so that we didn't need to cook. So capable, so generous. Family!

My thoughts and love are with you today.

Ngå mihi nui,

Jo

Sincere condolences to all the family. May you hearts be filled with joyful memories as you celebrate Ash and Barbara's life together. Longtime friend of my late husband Brian and special friend to my late Brother in law Neil Paul. Ash's mother known as Aunt Nell to our family, I still use her recipes in my book. Barbara, special nursing and golfing mate to me. I often wonder if we might have been related as her maiden name was Mann and my greatgrandmother's name was Mann, an early settler in NZ. Sorry I can't attend the celebration of Ash's life as I no longer live in Blenheim.
