STRYCHALUK, Jessie Pelagia (nee Kopiak) 1912 - 2010 Our Auntie Jessie passed away at the age of 97 years in the Grey Nuns Hospital on the evening of April 22, 2010. Jessie was born and raised in the farming community of Lavoy. In August of 1935, she married Kazimierz (Kazik) Strychaluk and they moved to Two Hills where they successfully farmed for many years, working hard and participating in community life. Retiring to Edmonton, they built a new home and there, Jessie cooked and baked and tended to a manicured garden. Not having any children of her own, Jessie playfully participated in the lives of her numerous nieces and nephews. Upon the death of her lifetime partner of 62 years, Jessie moved to Virginia Park Manor; and when her health started to fail in 2009, she moved to the Good Samaritan Wedman Village, where she experienced extraordinary care. Auntie Jessie is predeceased by her husband, Kazik Strychaluk; her parents, John and Katie Kopiak; her sisters, Mary Horon and Anna Shuell; and her brothers, Fred, Steve, and Harry Kopiak. Having kept her family ties strong throughout her life, she was lovingly cared for and will be fondly missed. Prayers Wednesday, April 28 at 8:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 - 111 Avenue. Funeral Service Thursday, April 29 at 1:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel with interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
