Dear Linda and family - our sincerest sympathy to you all. Garry was a dear friend, hardworking and a sincere Diabetes Christchurch committee member whose sound and commonsense advice was always appreciated. Again his ongoing work on the Canterbury Diabetes Consumer Group for many years was inspiring, thoughtful and wise and going forward he will always be admired and respected for the kindness and endurance and leadership he gave and gave. Rest in peace our dear friend you have well earned your rest in heaven.

Sad times and we are thinking of you at this time. Some of my earliest memories are of crocodiles in Singapore, and later when I was a teenager I remember going to a concert and being surprised to see Gary there as part of the first aid team (jealous he got free tickets). You guys took me into your home when I was studying at uni, where I got to see Gary's dry sense of humour and his smile.
