When I first met Gordy he made me feel so comfortable and part of the family . His love and respect for brothers and sisters in Christ was so evident. And I observed over the years how Gordy was such a caring friend to my husband. An honourable and great man of God.

A huge shock and a huge hole in my heart at the loss of losing a deep and close friend and brother in the Lord. I always cherished our truthful heart to heart talks and the fun lively discussion on the merits of his beloved Highlanders vs my Crusaders. I admired him for his example of courage , grace and forgiveness through extremely tough times. Gordy walked the talk . "What does the Lord require of you ? But to do justly. To love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8 That was Gordy. Haere haere haere toku ihoa. Ka kite ano. Farewell my friend until we meet again.

With a mix of sadness and gladness and feeling all the richer for having experienced your aroha you will be missed Gordy. At last all of your questions about eternal life that we spent many hours chatting about will now be answered. May your whanau be comforted at this time in the knowledge that your spirit will be at peace. Gordy thank you for your friendship and fellowship that you have extended to Suzanne , kids and myself for 53 plus years and for all the memories that are indeed true treasures.
To the family, laugh, cry, be angry, spit tacks and have a truly fabulous wake for your old man enjoyed a good old rave up. Have a cup of ale on your old man. May you all feel the warmth and love as you gather together at this time. I can just hear all of the stories being shared. Tall tails and all.
