So sad to hear about Ian. I last saw him at his sister Mary (my best friend)´s funeral 7 years ago. I have many memories of Ian, as I stayed often with the family back when we were young and had a school girl crush on him for years. My sincerest sympathies to Keren and the extended family. With all our love.

I am saddened to learn of Ian's passing. He was the captain of the Wellington College hockey 1st XI of which I was a member. A great leader and fine person. I hadn't seen him since 1961! Richard Taylor, also a member of that team, passed away this week too. RIP

I was very sad to hear of Ian's passing. We shared some time working in Lands and Survey head office and then working more closely when I transferred to Blenheim in 1983, where Ian was Commissioner of Crown Lands. I had great respect for Ian, he was an inspiring leader and always very committed to whatever he did, whether it was to do with the Marlborough Sounds Maritime Park, Molesworth Station, or a myriad of other things that were part of his role as Commissioner. His greatest love was of course reserved for Keren and their daughters and family to whom I extend my sincere sympathy.

So sorry to hear of Ian's passing. I knew him when he was Lands and Survey Department's Commissioner of Crown Lands in Blenheim. More recently played many a social tennis game in the evenings. To Karen and family our deepest sympathy.

Dear Keren & family,
We were saddened to learn of Ian's passing.
We grew up together on Orangi Kaupapa Road where the Mitchell & McNaught families were close neighbours.
May the many happy memories you share help to comfort you in your grief.
