Elaine WAY Obituary

WAY, Elaine (Bedard)
May 13, 1933 – October 12, 2013
After a life distinguished by her good cheer and ready laugh that brought warmth and welcome to all, Elaine passed away peacefully.
She rose from cocktail waitress at the Edmonton Petroleum Club and Receptionist at South Park Motors to bookkeeping clerk at Weldwood to Accountant at Cedarwood and then Comptroller at Phoenix Fence. She was always pleasant and diligent in her work ensuring employees were pleased with accurate and timely pay.
A life-long Edmontonian, Elaine enjoyed vacationing in NYC, New Orleans, Caesars in Vegas, and beach resorts in Cuba and Mexico.
She was a long-time dog owner who adored her pooches.
She is survived by her son, Randall Way and five younger sisters, Nicki Noble of Los Angeles, Sherrin (Gerald) Campbell, Valerie Lane, Ronda Bedard and Lauren Bedard, all of Edmonton. She enjoyed her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Murray and Evelyn Bedard and her sister, Marilee Bourgeois. She is predeceased by Eddie Awid, her first love as a teenager; her former husband, Alan Way and her former partner, Pete.
Thank-you to the caring staff at St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital, Edmonton, and to Golden Hearts Companion Service.
A Celebration of Elaine's Life will be held Sunday, October 20 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Homefire Grill, 18210 – 100 Avenue, Edmonton.
Elaine enjoyed and spread the positive side of life. Kindly call or forward your tributes, toasts and anecdotes by visiting:
