Ivan KERR Obituary
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Ivan, our beloved father, uncle and friend to all those whose lives he touched. Ivan slipped away in his sleep on Monday, June 14, 2021, aged 87, broken-hearted after the recent passing of his cherished wife, Susan Patricia Kerr. An accomplished chemist and lecturer, fearless white-water kayaker, sprinter and skilled pianist, Ivan held a deep passion for life, sport, numerous hobbies, wine and music. Ivan was the much-loved father of Sally-Anne (Robert) and Bridget (Frank), stepfather of Madeleine and Hannah, beloved grandfather of Remi, Winter, Thomas, Lucy, Freya and Alice, dear uncle of Carolyn, Rachel, Richard, Lisa, Amanda, Kirsty, Jon, Sarah, Martin, Marama, Ana, Gregory, Rod, Rebecca, Erica, and brother-in-law of David, Barrie and Gillian. Ivan was predeceased by parents Martha (nee Allnutt) and James Kerr. A celebration of Ivan's life will be held at Romaleigh, 31 Ocean View Road, Northcote, on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 2.00pm.

Remembering Ivan as a respected colleague and friend. We shared an office for 10 years (1972-82) at Waikato Technical Institute. A good innings and a life lived to the full and a man good to be with. My sincere sympathy to all.

So sorry to hear of Ivans passing. Remembering a great part of his life with our family. Kayaking in the late 1970 . bought one of Ivans kayaks off of him for my Sons slalom kayaking.
I kayaked with Ivan for many years after. Called in on him and Sue when I was passing through Picton 18 months ago.
Still had that cheeky smile and dry sense of humour.

Our sincere condolences to the loss of Ivan. Met Ivan through Sue and spent many a time having a laugh driving him to hospital to see Sue, or just visiting when was on his own with Sue in hospital. God bless.
