We have many fond memories of Joan as she helped us navigate the New Zealand lifestyle when we moved here 13 years ago. She was our friend, neighbour and confidant as well as a pseudo grandmother to our daughters as they grew up. We will miss her and so pleased she was out on an adventure!

David and I would like to pass on our sincerest condolences to you all. We were extremely saddened to hear that Joan had passed away. Joan was a very valued member of our social club in Blenheim and we absolutely adored her. Your mother was a gentle compassionate lady but she also had a wonderful sense of humour and she will be greatly missed.
