John CARR Obituary

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, peacefully at Alexandra Hospital, Nelson after a short illness. Aged 93 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Barbara. Much loved father and father-in-law of David (deceased) and Colleen Carr, Philippa and Mark Benefield, Robyn and Ian Bishell, and Andrea Carr and David Hart. Treasured Poppa of grandchildren: Sarah and Jared, Rebekah and Regan, Sam, Catherine and Alex, Olivia, Nathan and Michaela, Conrad and Ella, Lauren and Alex, Bridgit and Matt, and William; and great-grandchildren: Noah, Max, Alfie, Layla, Indie, and Oaklyn. Special thanks to the staff at Alexandra Hospital for their exceptional care of John. No flowers by request please. Messages may be sent to the Carr Family, c/- PO Box 110, Blenheim 7240. A celebration of John's life will be held at Sowman's Mayfield Chapel, cnr Parker and Hutcheson Streets, Blenheim, at 10.30am on Tuesday, November 5, followed by interment at Fairhall Cemetery.

What a wonderful life John has had. I remember him and Barbara from our shared Waipara days, full of fun and laughter, always a big smile, hug and a joke. The end of an era for you all, a big presence in your lives whose memory will be long cherished.
