John DOWNING Obituary
On July 21, 2017, at Bishopscourt, Dunedin, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, aged 74. Dearly loved husband of Catherine, loved father of Mark, Edwin, Richard and the late Andrea. Loved father-in-law of Tammi and grandfather of David. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Carole and the late Nigel Jones. A service for John will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 11.00am at Aoraki Funeral Services, 160 Mountainview Road, Timaru.

It was with great sadness I heard today of John's passing. I had the pleasure of working with John in the Library at Woodbourne. He was a man of great humour and was always so kind. He was so very proud of Cathy and the boys and so excited when Eddie produced his little Grandson.

John was fondly loved by both his cousin Nick and wife Val. If it wasn't for this wonderful man Nick and I would never have met each other.
