Dear Glenda,
I have only just become aware of Johns passing. Please accept my sincere condolences.Although we haven't kept in contact over the years I have always thought of John as a friend from our days as corporals together and later.
The year we spent in Burnham followed by the two and a half years in Malaya. The long trip home via Singapore, Cocos Island, Perth, Melbourne and finally Auckland. The lack of reception we experienced in Auckland and the train trip you made to Wellington in second class seats with your children.
These and and other memories of our service have remained with me to this day.
yours sincerely
