Kate and Rowdy were wonderful neighbours to us when we first bought our little house in Port Underwood. They taught us how to get wasps nests and looked out for us, including contacting other neighbours in the Port when we took our little boat out with friends in inclement weather.
They helped replace the little bridge on our bush track and gave us an old dresser which was outside their house waiting to be moved on.
We lost touch with Kate after Rowdy had died.
We have some great photos of them which we could send to you privately if you wanted us to.
Kindest regards,
Alison and Graham Wise

Mum you had the biggest hart and were the strongest person I have ever met. You have been not only my mum but my best friend and flatmate for so long and life will never be the same without you here with me. My heart is so heavy and shattered but you are free from pain and sadly my pain has just begun. I am so blessed to have had such an amazing loving, caring, fun mother who stuck by me no matter what. Words cannot even come close to what you mean to me and the world was so much brighter with you in it. One day at a time is all I can do but I know you are with me. You will stay in my heart and my thoughts every minute of every day until I see you again. Go with God and sleep easy my gorgeous girl. Miss you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kate was such a wee darling. I was lucky enough to have met her when Kate´s beautiful daughter Lynley came to look after my Mum. My thoughts are with you Lynley, your friends and family at this very difficult and sad time. You know where to find me if you need me.

We first meet Kate and the love of her life Rowdy when we first moved to Blenheim and they were our neighbours. Our lives were never ever the same again. So much joy, laughter and exciting fishing trips down the Sounds become the new norm.
Kate and Rowdy will always be treasured forever in my heart and memory.
Farewell to a beautiful person who left this world infinitely better.
Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.
I extend my thoughts and sympathy to all her family.RIP dear Kate.
