Margaret A. "Dode" Huffman, 92, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away at 4:20 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. Margaret was born Feb. 24, 1915, in Smithton, a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Yanko. She was married to Edward H. Huffman Sr., who passed away March 27, 1991. Margaret was a loving grandmother. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant and years ago, she was employed as a bookkeeper at the former Grants Store, Pragers Hardware, and J.C. Penney Co., all in Mt. Pleasant. Margaret enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, matches, postcards, and took pleasure in writing to pen pals. Margaret will be sadly missed by her devoted family; her grandsons, Edward Huffman III and wife, Wendy, and Ted Huffman and wife, Susie, all of Scottdale; her granddaughters, Debra Durstine and husband, Dennis, and Cheryl Pfeifer, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Vicki Felgar and husband, Mark, of New Stanton; her great-grandchildren, Edward Huffman IV and wife, Gina, of Scottdale, Eric Huffman, of Connellsville, Danielle Huffman and Katie Huffman, both of Scottdale, Dennis, Heidi, Amy and Michael Durstine, and Ryan Kovacs, all of Mt. Pleasant; her two great-great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Trent Huffman, of Scottdale; and a daughter-in-law, Shirley E. Parker, of Fairview. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward H. Huffman Jr. (March 15, 1998); four brothers, Frank, John, Robert and Jake Yanko; and three sisters, Mary Mahallick, Stella Litterini and Gertrude Porchnick.
