Sad to hear of Mikes death.
As a young boy in the days of old I idolize Mike on the rugby field, both as a player and man.

On behalf of the Nelson Rugby Football Club and it's many past Club and representative players who knew and admired Mike as a person and talented Rugby player - wish to extend their deepest sympathy to the family on the loss of a loved husband, father and extended family.

Ray and Family so sorry to hear of Mikes passing. Great memories of those days back in Alfred Sheat St, especially New Years Eve.

So sad. Mike was an idol of mine growing up. So deceptive, quick on his feet. He could kick everything over from the sideline. Sincerest condolences to all the family.

I knew Mike just after his rugby days in Nelson, He worked at the Nelson Sports Depot, great bloke, sad that he's gone, my condolences.

Mike was my hero when I was young and I got to play with him in the WOB senior team in 1966 which won the club competition that year.

To Rae and Family. So very sorry to read the sad loss of Mike. He was a great mate living next door to us with his mother and his Grandparents in our teenage years. Fantastic at sport. I played many games of tennis with him. A great pianist. We played many a duet together My very sincere condolences.
