Nancy DOAK Obituary

On July 13, 2023, peacefully at Christchurch Hospital, aged 96 years. Loved daughter of Jack and Ena Doak (both deceased), sister and sister-in-law of Ron and Janet Doak (both deceased), and Joan and Peter Petersen (both deceased). Nancy was the loved aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt of Jenefer and Ron Reeve, and Laura; Anne Ussher, Ben, Katie, Julie (deceased) and Tim (deceased); Marion and Dave Hutchinson, Sam, and Emily Kassianou; John Doak; Adrienne and Fred Ruesink, Emma and Jonas Mead, and Lilith; Victoria and Neil Hay, and Phoebe; Vivienne Petersen; Matthew and Nome Petersen, Jay, and Myles. Nancy was a much loved cousin. Special thanks to Summerset at Wigram for their care of Nancy. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Nancy Doak, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. Many years ago, Nancy asked for people attending her funeral to wear colourful clothing. Her farewell will be held at Balcairn Cemetery, 303 Leithfield Road, Leithfield, on Monday, July 24, at 11.00am.

Nancy was a wonderful happy lady who I had the privilege of caring for at Summerset.We shared some special moments and I will always treasure those and your laughs , smiles and singing .

Mum loved Nancy & her family ( Margaret Ferguson nee Kidd) & I visited Nancy until last year when I got Covid twice. Nancy was an amazingly patient & funny person & in the beginning we had good laughs about other residents. ( pre Summerset) Nancy always sent my 4 sons money for their birthday & was always good company to visit. She looked after her parents with a labour of love. I will always cherish her memory. My Sincere Sympathy in the passing of Nancy. Because of covid & ill health I could no longer visit her. I have lovely memories of the friendship we shared. Nancy will never be forgotten.
May she rest in peace.

Nancy´s parents were kind, hospitable, friendly neighbors to our family in Blenheim. Nancy showed genuine concern for others, she will be remembered fondly by all those who knew her. May her memory be a blessing.

I have such fond memories of Nancy when her Mum and Dad were our neighbours in

Remembering Nancy as a very generous, caring lady who gave her time willingly to the community, but especially as a volunteer to IHC/Idea Services for many years in Blenheim.
