My sister Marian and I are the only two living members of the Bing family (9) who settled in Blenheim in the 1930s. We all knew Nigel well through his association with the Blenheim Table Tennis Club as most of us played there and I used to attend tournament meetings at his apartment in what is now Bings Motels. Also, his shop was just a few doors away from our fruit shop. He and his family were stalwarts in the tennis and table tennis scenes and his efforts were well deserved through the Queen´s honour award.
A true gentleman with a huge heart for community. Rest in peace now Nigel.

One evening, when our daughter was nearing two, she announced that she was "going to see Nigel".
She then left the house, walked over and knocked on his door, and then entered as if she owned the place. She did this alone, all by herself - something she'd never done before.
Nigel was a man she loved and trusted. Of all his many achievements, that spoke loudest to me.

Sincere condolences Linda and family. Nigel was a longtime friend of my late husband Brian Paul. Nigel always a gentleman. Honest and helpful in business and sports, especially table tennis. A long life well lived with a great contribution to the welfare of Marlborough.
