Thank you, Peter and Noreen, for everything you did for me when I was in high school, far from Japan. You taught me both music and the New Zealand way of life. I had hoped to see you once more, but upon reading this news online, I wanted to leave a comment.

Dear Noreen, Karen,David and Families.
Our thoughts are with you all at this sad time of Peter's passing.
Peter brought joy and learning to many during his time at the Blenheim Swimming Pool, and as I sit and ponder over memories, at a distance I can hear a lone saxophone in the band playing, Red Sails in the Sunset.
Thank you for the music Peter.

Thankyou Mr Barge for the wonderful memories whilst growing up in Blenheim. Your dedication to Marlborough Swimming and diving helped shape and build the club to where it was in my time living in Blenheim.
You will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
My condolence to the Barge Family.

Sincere condolences Noreen and family. Such an amazing contribution to the Marlborough community with his saxophone and at the swimming pool swimming and specially diving. All my family, especially Greg, had the pleasure of his skills and also Hiro (Japan).

Peter you were my coach and taught me how to springboard dive in the late 70s. Because of you, I went on to win a centre title. Rest easy my friend, you've gone up to that big Olympic pool in the sky.

Ah Noreen. what can I say? First of all I can't imagine your man in care to start with. What it is to get old huh? I hope you are well yourself. I will never forget your lovely smiling face, or the days we spent together water skiing, although you may not remember them that way since you always had to drive the **** boat. I am remembering one occasion when you lent over the edge of the boat and suggested that he should swim back:-)
I am currently living in an extension on Keith's house in a beautifully managed ecosystem, looking out on the treetops and still fit and well and healthy. 04 234 8252 if you feel like catching up?
