Peter JONES Obituary
After a very short illness Peter passed away punctually at 6.00pm, surrounded by family. Much loved husband of the late Lorna (nee Perano), and treasured companion of Stephanie Gill. Brother of David Jones, and Ian and Ann Jones. Dearly loved Dad, Grandad and Great-Grandad of Rhonda and Geoff Stewart, Louise and Jason Wing, Eleanor and Hudson; Christianna and Greg Morgan and William; Alan Jones and Kimberley Harrison-Jones and Emma; Robert and Vicki Harrison Jones, Zac and Gina, Quinn and Lara and Olivia. A huge thank you to the nursing staff at Wairau Hospital for your compassion and care of Peter during his stay.
A celebration of Peter's life will be held at Springlands Chapel, Cloudy Bay Funeral Services, 15 Boyce Street, Blenheim on Thursday, September 26, at 2.00pm. Messages to 11 Oak Tree Lane, Renwick 7204 or www.cloudybayfunerals.co.nz

Rhonda - your lovely folks gave me a great start in my teaching career when I was so fortunate to private board with them in Picton - 1971. Lorna taught me local whaling history and Peter introduced me to fishing and the variety of kai moana as we chugged out through Tory Chanel round to Port Underwood. Best wishes Rhonda to you and all the extended family as you come to terms with the enormity of your loss. Bob Pringle

To Peters family, especially my good mate Rob. Mate we lost our fathers within two days of each other. I had a great little chat with Peter last Saturday, while my Dad Tommy was having a snooze. Waitohi has lost two great men. I'm sorry, don't think I will be able to stick around Marlborough until Thursday - I wish I could. From all the Norton's to all the Jones', take care. Your Dad, like you Mum, was the best.
