Very sorry to learn of Phills passing. He was a good person & always helped wherever he could. Had mentioned to me he had not been well and was downsizing his bussiness the last time we spoke.

I met Phil back in the 70's when we combined a couple of Mini 7's and some big-bores with late nights and lots of fun and learning. I left NZ in 1983 but will always remember 'P.D' for his fabulous attitude, his humor and his tremendous mechanical ability. Most importantly he was a really great guy and we (Hamish, Garret and Myself) will miss him terribly. A great loss.

Phil was a workmate from the Army Camp at Trentham where his knowledge and humour was great. Had recent dealings with Phil due to my son buying a 1980 Mini Clubman which had a few problems. Phil's knowledge of all things Mini was amazing he could quote chapter and verse on ant part just by looking at it. RIP Phil you will be greatly missed.

Such a pleasure to have met you and see you at all the Super Mini Challenges and Mini 7 races. You always stayed with us when at Manfeild while we had a house full of Mini race drivers staying. Didn´t mind sleeping where we put you . Respect the amount time you put into all the Minis on the grid when they had mechanical issues .Thank you for the support you gave to all the Mini race drivers over the years. RIP Phil
