My late brother Ted was workshop boss for Gardner Motors. He trained Dick and another friend, Neil Monk, in all matters mechanical. He really enjoyed these young guys. Sadly, all these people are now gone

So very sad! All that knowledge lost. I hope Dick and Dick are reuniting over a glass or two and chatting about their endless hours at Fairweathers X

Dick and I were flatmates for a while in Papakura while he worked as a 'baggy' for Marine Helicopters. He used to peel off his work overalls in the sunny porch. The chemicals on them killed off all my indoor plants, then he tried to revive then with beer. He was a good mate. One of a kind.

Sad news. A good funny man. Many good times had at the Waitamata Areo club and back neighbor one over and the calling in for a potty break or park up on the lawn in his van for the night. RIP Dick Veale (meat with a V)

Dick was generous of his time and a good near neighbour and friend to Sallie and me. A real individual. My condolences to his friends and family. Something of a hero.

So very sad to hear this devastating news. Dick was such a wonderful friend, I have nothing but fond, happy memories of the good times we shared. My condonlences to Dick's family, friends and workmates. Dick, you will be sorely missed by many, and have gone far too soon.
