Val, you were my fav aunty and even though we hadn't seen each other for many years I'll always have found memories of how caring you were,so diplomatic with all the family in hard times (lots of hard times ) and such an inspirational brave woman leading the way to show us how woman carry on through adversity. I love how you were still trying to smile right up to the end. The force was strong! Rest easy beautiful lady.xx

Nana Val was one tough and stubborn lady, but in the best ways possible. I totally see where Dad gets it from now. You became like a naughty girl with a very cute sense of humour but also lots of fun in your later years and I absolutely adored all the special time that we spent together. I love that I was named after you. And I love that I got to learn so much more of your story as an adult. I am absolutely proud to call you my Nana and it was a true honour to sit with you and hold your hand and comfort you in your last hours. Watching how absolutely incredible Dad was with you was also very special. You made a big impact on a lot of people. You have so much of your life to nursing and I love that your last year's you were adored by your carers, people who have also given their lives to nursing and carework. You deserved nothing but the best and you got that. Thankyou for all that you were and all that you did. I shall love and honour you for always. Grace xxx
