How do you describe a lifelong friendship here, under these circumstances? It´s so hard to accept that Wayne has gone, and hard to put into words what he means to me, and the affect he´s had on my life.

He was a constant - always there through the years.

There are so many memories - having the best fun driving Wayne´s go-cart when we were boys - I still remember the laughter. Running around the Rapaura school field, visits to the Taylor´s home, helping with the concreting when the new holiday home was being built, being driven around in the MG, and the Land Cruisers. Calling into the engineering shop when in Blenheim and being greeted with a big smile from Geoff, and catching up with Wayne. Sometimes after years, but it didn´t matter - time just fell away.

We were very proud of Wayne and how clever he was with engineering - a natural talent who designed some amazingly clever machines.

I´ll also remember Wayne as an amazing human. I didn´t share Wayne´s beliefs and faith in God, and came from a very different background. Wayne was never judgemental, always supportive, and made a huge difference in my life.
Wayne was a really good person, and the world is slightly dimmer now that he has gone. I will miss him a lot.
My heart goes out to Chantal, Sam, Tim, Emma, Michael, and of course Geoff, Elaine, Malcolm, Julie, Conway and their families.

Love,
Doug (Revill).

With deepest sympathy to Chantal, Sam, Tim, Emma and Michael and to the Best and Taylor families for the tremendous loss you have suffered: a great totara has fallen. I recall Wayne´s warm smile and affable nature. I remember telling him that I was a member of his wider clan as my Mother´s maiden name was Elaine Taylor. Wayne, you will live on in our hearts and memories.

I have so many wonderful memories from our shared childhood and time spent together as family. Wayne was such a lovely, kind and gentle soul who always managed to make time for a catch up and visit whenever I was home. He will be dearly missed but I am comforted that he was found and can be laid to rest peacefully. My thoughts are with you all, but in particular you, Chantal, and the children, and Uncle Geoffrey and Aunty Elaine.
I hope you can take some comfort knowing that he was much loved and will be missed by so many.
Lisa xx
