Melody Josey Obituary
Born in Americus and raised in New Jersey, Melody built a life defined by strength, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. She dedicated her career to serving as a Licensed Practical Counselor specializing in mental health and addiction, offering guidance, understanding, and hope to countless individuals and families. Her passion for learning was lifelong-she earned her Master's Degree in Psychology and was proudly working toward her Doctorate.
Melody was an avid reader, a gifted writer, and a collector of anything that sparked her curiosity. She carried a strong and steady presence, yet those who knew her best felt the depth of her love, humor, and fierce devotion to her family.
She is survived by her four children: Candace Josey, Nina Battle (James), Alana Bey (Angel), and Keliliah Avery (Josh); her mother, Della Lewis; and her sister, Vanessa Josey. Melody leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her grandchildren: Alyssa, Caleb, Spirit, Skylar, Savannah, Caiden, James Malik, Desmend, Devend, Anais, and Elijah.
Melody's life was one of resilience, purpose, and love. Her impact will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Rest in peace Cousin Melody.
I will always remember those summers when Aunt Dell brought you and Vanessa down to Macon for the summer. You taught us a dance routine and we learned to sing the song called "The Love You Save" by The Jackson 5.
I remember you were always reading books, for hours and hours and hours, dropping peanuts in bottles of Coke, pouring powdered pixie sticks in your mouth and so many other things that flood me right now.
Our last conversation, you were talking about creating jewelry and business investments. I hope to see you again, over yonder with The Lord Jesus.
